Gorillaz To Perform In Mumbai & Bangalore In 2027
9 April 2026
Globally-renowned band Gorillaz have just announced their India tour, performing at Bangalore's District Arena @ Terraform on January 23 and at Mumbai's Jio World Garden on January 27 in 2027.
Formed by prominent rock musician Damon Albarn and comic book artist Jamie Hewlett in 1998, and presented as a virtual band with members singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, guitarist Noodle and drummer Russel Hobbs, rumours around Gorillaz finally performing in India have been abound ever since they put out their 9th studio album 'The Mountain' earlier this year. The album not only bases the virtual band's developing lore in India with its characters finding themselves in the country, but also saw the music being recorded and inspired in India as it featured collaborations with the likes of iconic Indian singers Asha Puthli and Asha Bhosle, sitar maestro Anoushka Shankar, sarod stalwarts Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, and flautist Ajay Prasanna.
“It has been and remains a dream of mine to bring Gorillaz in all its technicolour glory to India,” says Damon Albarn. “It’s just the beginning, and I truly look forward to the experience.”
Gorillaz shows in India will feature Albarn joined by the acts' full touring band and feature special guest performers, including many of their Indian collaborators.
Pre-sale for Mastercard card holders goes live exclusively on District app from 1 PM, 13 April till 1 PM, 18 April, before general ticket sales start at 2 PM, 18 April.
