Siiry Debuts As A Producer With Fuzzy Melancholic Dance Pop Single 'Deja Vu'

After rising as a DJ through this decade, Hyderabad's Siiry assumes the role of a producer with her debut single 'Deja Vu'.

Though packing a bouncy groove that gets the body moving like her efforts on the dancefloor, Siiry chooses an entirely different aim with the track as she creates "an ode to nostalgia — a love letter to everything that feels familiar and comfortable, including the patterns - both good and bad - that we find ourselves returning to."

Consequently, the song comes with the fuzzy textures and detuned keys that evoke that melancholic yearning-for-past feeling very dominantly found in lo-fi house, except delivered over a more dynamic interplay of drums and bass. Alongside the synth interludes, Siiry buries her voice in echoey washes till it just about switches from being the central songwriting to an ambient layer. All of it serves a single emotional purpose, and that in itself showcases surprising musical maturity, especially for a debut production.
