Midnight Traffic Releases Volume 1 of Experimental EP ‘Option Paralysis’

Midnight Traffic, Hyderabad-based producer and DJ, whose sound is a blend of dark techno elements infused with modern sound design, hypnotic rhythms, and deep layers that have a cerebral magnetism, just released Volume 1 of the EP series, ‘Option Paralysis’.
The ‘Option Paralysis’ series is an exploration of Midnight Traffic’s creative process, in which he intentionally limits the usage of tools to create music. “In a world saturated with endless choices and advanced digital tools, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the multitude of options.” The concept behind the EP is to introduce deliberate obstacles and then explore the creative possibilities within those limitations, ultimately transcending the creative paralysis that can arise.
Volume 1 starts with ‘When in Doubt’, a track characterized by an evolving atmospheric sound inspired by frequencies of nature, combined with a bassline that has a low, pulsating quality with a steady, driving rhythm. ‘Free Fall’ is centered around pads created using field recordings, enhanced with synthetic melodies and elements of noise-infused drum patterns. ‘Salahalu’, inspired by Midnight Traffic’s native language, Telugu, is more dancefloor-friendly, with trancy synth lines. Finally, ‘Thamaara’, the Malayalam word for ‘lotus’, concludes the release with psychedelic textures combined with a steady and rooted rhythmic core.
