UKato & FILM Join Hands On 3-Track EP 'mFunk/Astro/Switch'
13 October 2026
One longtime fixture of Delhi's nightlife and another up-and-coming one, Sanil Sudan aka FILM and Utkarsh Singh aka UKato, respectively, have collaborated on a 3-track EP entitled 'mFunk/Astro/Switch'.
Operating in their shared love for dubstep and breaks, the EP opens with soft, gentle echoes of grainy samples complemented by snappy breaks on 'mFunk'. In this case, the best comes first, with the track proving once again that just interplaying with a few well-chosen elements gets you farther than an excess of ideas. The ephemeral nature of dub echoes returns on the closer 'Switch', but this time in a more spacious space of techno's ambient fringes, with a pulsating bassline giving it a foundation. Sandwiched between them are the low-pressure basslines and pitched-down vocal samples of 'Astro' which feels constructed more for shaking up the dancefloor than something that can work just as well for solo listening like the other 2.
