Peter Cat Recording Co. Sells Out 25 Shows Ahead Of Debut Tour In America
14 April 2023
Earlier this year, prominent Indian indie group Peter Cat Recording Co. announced their debut tour across America with 29 dates, which also includes playing alongside the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Leon Bridges and The Nationals at Napa Valley's BottleRock Festival. The band reports having sold out 25 of its shows in the region already.
While India has regularly seen celebrations of international artists coming to the country and notable milestones within the Western audience from diaspora acts, Peter Cat Recording Co.'s success in nurturing listenership in territories like US and Canada (the band has also previously toured Europe) comes as a welcome instance of homegrown talent making headway in the West. The band's management team at Pagal Haina writes: "Peter Cat Recording Co. has been steadily building an organic following in North America. With their largest current online listenership being in America (without a single marketing dollar spent in the region), it is no surprise that when the band announced their debut American Spring '23 Tour, set to begin later this month, more than 50% of tickets sold out in less than 48 hours."
Formed in New Delhi in 2010 with notable albums like 'Portrait Of A Time' and 'Bismillah' to their name showcasing a melange of styles ranging from rock to gipsy-jazz, the group will go on the tour between April 25 – June 6.
