Boiler Room's First-Ever Pakistan Edition To Feature Jaubi, Natasha Noorani, Tollcrane, Ustad Noor Bakshsh & More
17 June 2022
Prominent event platform Boiler Room announced its first-ever edition in Pakistan, which will take place on June 20 in Karachi.
The host and broadcasters will offer a notably diverse lineup of the country's artists at their inaugural edition in the country. For its characteristic electronica sets, Boiler Room will host Tollcrane, Osama Khan aka Ozzie, Lyla, Malik, and a B2B set between Afsandyar Khan aka TMPST and Daniel Panjeewaney aka Kukido (also known as Alien Panda Jury).
Meanwhile, polymaths Natasha Noorani and Natasha Ejaz will reflect the more electronica-adjacent part of the country's indie music scene, while benjo (or bulbul tarang) maestro Ustad Noor Bakshsh and jazz-meets-hip-hop group Jaubi will give a glimpse of the classic sounds from the region and its new-age iterations respectively.
Taking place at Karachi's District 19 at 7PM PKT (2PM GMT or 7:30PM IST) while also getting livestreamed, the edition finds support and curation from local music institutions like the Cape Monze Records and Karachi Community Radio, UK-based label Chalo HQ, its associated South Asian roots-celebrating festival Dialled In, and diaspora acts Ahadadream and Nabihah Iqbal, alongside British Council – all of whom also came together last month to create the cross-cultural exchange Bridging The Gap.
