OX7GEN Launches New Label Fresh Air Records With Single 'Cruise Control Feat. Anushka'

Aditya Ashok aka OX7GEN has just launched a new record label, Fresh Air Records, through which the erstwhile Mumbai-based artist will release a 4-track EP entitled 'STOMP NOUVEAU' as the inaugural offering. To introduce the EP and the label, OX7GEN has just put out a collaborative single with Goa's DJ-producer Anushka called 'Cruise Control'.

Though usually associated with drum 'n' bass, OX7GEN's production stays closer to the meditatively repetitive and gritty style of Detroit techno on the single, with a hint of acid house in the form of an evolving squelching bassline and a flash of breakbeat sneaking near the end. It's pulled away from the style and taken to a new space by Anushka's refrain about being satisfied with the current state of the night, which is delivered in a restrained tone in tandem with the track.
