Wild City And UnMute To Launch ‘MVMNT’ in Gurgaon
12 February 2015
Wild City has joined forces with one of the most respected music agencies in Delhi - UnMute for a very special, curated property called ‘MVMNT’, the first edition of which is set to take place in Gurgaon on 28 February.
Despite being a part of the National Capital Region and having a distinct identity, culture and urban population of its own, Gurgaon hasn’t really received the attention it deserves in terms of nightlife. The young, working population of the bubbling new hub is increasing day by day, and yet they have to make a pilgrimage to Delhi, (battling the traffic and crowd) every weekend to have a good time – only to be kicked out at midnight.
Party series ‘MVMNT’ plans to change that by bringing in some of India’s most forward thinking producers and DJs for exclusive back to back sessions, live sets and high energy music that promises to keep you up and dancing till the wee hours. It’s a no frills club night that aims to accelerate club culture in the region and introduce fresh Indian talent and international sounds to wider audiences that don’t always have access to them. The property is in association with Club Rhino – a venue whose goal is to push the envelope and support the underground music scene for fans in the region.
“I live and work in Gurgaon, and have seen the venues here develop over the past few years. Today, Gurgaon has some of the best bars and clubs around with great space and infrastructure but hasn’t been able to develop a nightlife scene befitting that. We aim to change that with MVMNT, by bringing in quality nightlife events featuring the best artists in their genre,” Dev Bhatia, artist manager and director at UnMute.
Headlining the party series will be Qilla Records head honcho Kohra and one of India’s most dynamic DJs and producers Jitter, who will be playing a back to back set. Hugely popular live electronica artist Dualist Inquiry will also perform along with Moniker b2b Sanil who are going to bring in a blend of UK house, bass, garage, techno, 2-step, and maybe even a bit of dubstep. Uday Dass will be kicking off the evening with some of his unique dance goodness.
