Lady Gaga To Make Acting Debut With Robert Rodriguez

Pop megastar Lady Gaga is set to make her acting debut in Machete Kills, a new film by Robert Rodriguez, scheduled for release in 2013. The follow up to his 2010 release Machete, the film also features Danny Trejo (obviously), alongside Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, Zoe Saldana, Charlie Sheen (as the president of the United States) and Mel Gibson (as eccentric billionaire arms dealer Luther Voz), just to name a few.
Rodriguez’ past work includes Planet Terror (part of the Grindhouse set that he shared with Quentin Tarantino), Sin City and From Dusk Til Dawn. The Texan director announced the news on his Twitter account, posting a link to the poster and stating that Gaga “kicks SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!”
Gaga confirmed the news, by tweeting “yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane”.
This September will see the launch of the press campaign for Gaga’s as-yet-untitled new album and the follow up to last year’s Born This Way. You can see the poster for the Machete Kills below:
