Anoushka Maskey, BamBoy, Rudy Mukta & More Feature On Live Compilation Album 'Not Dead Yet - it's aLive! Compilation Vol. 1'

The multi-functional music company Misfits Inc. has just released a live compilation album, sharing recordings from its live music series, 'Not Dead Yet: it's aLive!', which has hosted the likes of Ankur Tewari & the Ghalat Family, Easy Wanderlings, Tejas, Karan Kanchan, Aarifah, Frizell D'Souza and more at Mumbai's antiSocial over the last 4 years.
As a live album capturing how some of the country's modern day live acts sound on stage, the 22-track record comes as a rarity in the Indian indie landscape while putting veterans like Tejas and Ankur Tewari in the same beat as up-and-comers like Green Park and pruthvi. The latter shines specially in the varied album, crooning a slow number 'stay' among cuts that feature folk-meets-electronica assembly by BamBoy, heavy peppering of singer-songwriters infusing their lyrical renditions with rock energy, bands like The Lightyears Explode fully leaning into their post-punk edge, while Hashbass invites rappers The Siege, RAK and the singer pho across 3 different tracks.
Straight after pruthvi's 'stay', Anoushka Maskey carries forward the standout segement of the record, displaying a self-assured command over the crowd that never saw a place in her delicate studio records. Dohnraj & The Peculiar too find a better home for their headstrong punk attitude in the live format while Sakré's 'Hella Raja?' and RAJ's 'Without You' with Urmila Sivadas find their beats expand beyond lo-fi cliches to make it a style that booms and pulls to move a crowd.
