Bombay's Realest Dance Party Heads To New Delhi
22 May 2012
Grime Riot Disco, otherwise known as GRD started in 2010 when a bunch of friends in Bombay found themselves "sandwiched between a wall and bad big-room house music". Fed up of nightlife lacking a warmth and vibe of a real intimate dance party, GRD was born.
"The recipe for a good, happy party is cheap booze, good groovy beats that don't exhaust the ears/senses and NO egos. Be who you want to be, come as you are and partake in whatever form you want. GRD is all about laughter and costumes in an overall feel good environment that feels like your best friend's house party… only better. It is there for those who seek to find the alternative to the emotionless glitz of the nightlife that's suffocating the scene." - GRD
Founded by a trio that includes members of design outfit Wetheppl as well as Monica from Shaa'ir + Func, GRD is now recognised nationwide as a party with an open door policy, where anything and everything goes and where egos are left at the door. This is not to say that any less attention is paid to the music. Month after month GRD hosts genre defying DJ's from across the board who care about nothing more than than the dance.
Bombay's "realest dance party" is heading to Delhi on June 02 and will feature M.mat (Bhavishyavani Future Soundz) accompanied by our very own Wild City DJ. This is not your average party. Take nothing but your dancing shoes.
