Anish Kumar Concludes 4-EP Anthology 'AK Cuts'

7 July 2026

Anish Kumar has just released 'AK Cuts: Vol 4', the final instalment in a series that kicked off with the first volume in October 2025.

The Britain-based DJ and producer offered odes to New York's house culture on volume 1, flipped Indian samples on volume 2, turned to Italo-disco on volume 3, and finally sampled the American canon of jazz and spaghetti western for volume 4. While each flavour is clearly felt, whether through the compositions around the voice of Nazia Hassan from 'Aap Jaisa Koi' or riff off Bappi Lahiri's 'Come Closer' on volume 2, the fully realised americana on volume 4's final track or through the slightly more tension-and-drop-oriented nature of volume 1, ultimately the 20 tracks across the anthology are joyous groove-builders reminiscent of French house with their short loops-oriented nature. Over it, samples often pass like a colourful parade. Even more repetitive works like the volume 4 opener 'Crankshaft' stand out for their self-assured command on the dancefloor.

“This project gave me the license to paint a much wider picture and finally unite the two arms of what I do,” says Anish, who has also debuted at Berlin's Panorama bar and sold out at London's Village Underground over the last year and is slated to present a four-date residency at London’s Phonox this October.

From the 20 tracks of the anthology, Anish has selected 2 from each volume to create an 8-track vinyl release, 'AK Cuts: Greatest Hits'.
