We Roundup All F1 Events This Weekend

25 October 2011

The weekend most of the country has been begging to come round sooner, is finally here. The stadium is ready, Metallica almost sold out and after-parties booked with affluent Indians ready to fork out huge sums of money to be part of them...

We thought we'd do a little round up of the treats in store thanks to the F1.

First off (in case you've been living under a rock for the last year), arguably the world's biggest metal band, Metallica will be playing a headline show at Leisure Valley Ground, Sector 29, Gurgaon on Friday 28 October.

"We are so excited to be playing a show in a place we never thought in our wildest dreams we'd get to play. It's an honour for all of us that we get to be a part of that whole music scene as a metal band sharing our music with fans in India at this incredible concert!” - Metallica

Following the show, celebrities and drivers alike will be flocking to the prestigious Crowne Plaza Hotel, Gurgaon for a late night of 5 star hospitality with a DJ set from seminal British house DJ, Seb Fontaine and a raucous live set from jetsetting jesters The Cuban Brothers. Rumours have it that the San Francisco four-piece will also be in attendance.

“Our two F1 Rocks the Afterparty events will round off what looks like an amazing weekend of fast cars and entertainment in Delhi,” explained F1 Rocks CEO Robert Montague. “We have secured a truly great line up that will provide fantastic entertainment for VIP guests, celebrities and Formula One drivers.”

Following the action on the track at the Grand Prix on Sunday 30 October, the second F1 Rocks afterparty will be held in the stunning Durbar Hall at the Taj Palace. Amongst the international all-star line up of DJs will be 80s superstar Boy George, acclaimed DJ and producer Marc Vedo and Sakon Yamamoto. The Cuban Brothers will again be on hand donning the fedoras for another night of mayhem.

This isn't it. Lap, Arjun Rampal's Chanakyapuri based club will also be hosting three of its very own parties in a specially set up club in Greater Noida. The first, on 28 October, will see DJ Roger Sanchez perform while the second, on 29 October will play host to DJ Edward Maya.

The final day, 30 October, will see the one and only Lady Gaga perform a (very) short set to 1500 revellers.

Alongside the fact that it's Halloween and Delhi already has a fair share of events popping off across the city, is it fair to say that it's Delhi's biggest weekend of the year?
