R.I.P DJ Mehdi
**UPDATE** It has just been confirmed that the news which has been circulating earlier today is in fact true and DJ Mehdi, the young french producer was killed when a mezzanine at his home collapsed, causing him to fall several metres.
News of the Frenchman's death circulated on Twitter this morning and was first thought to be a hoax, until his friend DJ Cut Killer wrote (in French), "DJ Mehdi !!! There are no words to tell you the sorrow which I feel... A friend goes from there... Rest in peace bro."
Drake tweeted, "Damn...RIP MEHDI." Chromeo wrote: "We lost our brother. No words."
Paris Social Club posted the following message to their Facebook page: "Following the death of DJ Mehdi, we have made the exceptional decision to close the club tonight. An evening of silence in honor of the artist. Thank you for not commenting on this status."

For the last hour or so news has been circulating on Twitter that french electro producer, DJ Mehdi, has sadly passed away.
Mehdi, as most of you will already know, was a member of Paris's Ed Banger crew, playing an instrumental part in their progress within the last decade. Most recently he had been collaborating with Riton on ghetto-house project Carte Blanche.
Although no official statement has yet surfaced, it is suggested that he passed away in an accident within the last 24 hours. With more and more collaborators and DJ pals paying their respects via Twitter, it's feared the news is true. We'll update this post as soon as we know more.
