Hellish Makes An Attempt To Combine Trap Metal, Hindi Rap & Emo Pop On 'Maeve Lila'
5 September 2025
New Delhi artist Astha aka Hellish recently put out her new EP 'Maeve Lila'.
While the fledgling musician has shown a penchant for moody melodies, taking cues from emo rock and dark avant-pop, the new 2-track EP, which barely clocks over two and a half minutes, sees her throwing in trap drums and heavy metal guitars to make a stylistic evolution. Though the imperfect vocal fry of 'Reaper Lila' and the cliché Hindi rap verses of 'Letthal Angels Gun' does pull one out from the rest of the delight of the work, the combination of metal, electronica, pop and hip-hop that Hellish tries has merits that extend beyond musical courage as the production does manage to pull together enough respective energy, textural interest, emotional edge and swagger from the respective genres to keep one interested in what Hellish to bring forth.
