Pranav Nigam Debuts Lani.Akea With Ambient Album 'Songs To Sleep To Vol. 2'

New Delhi's Pranav Nigam puts out his first release as the ambient act Lani.Akea with the album 'Songs To Sleep To Vol. 2'.

Spread over 8 tracks, this isn't an ambient work of long-held chords and textures positioned to be absorbed at length (though some of that is present on 'Expanding Into Nothing'). Instead, the tracks first feature noticeable motion and evolution but of short, relaxed motifs that don't stray from their placid starting points – featured over guitar harmonics, bird flutters and bowed textures.

In the midst of it, tracks like 'Consoling A Nightmare' go into more beat-driven dissonant grounds without leaving the genre, and the Sirf Paudhon Se Pyaar collaborative track 'Everything Changes' lets the everyday ambience of city noises take centre stage before giving it a musical context.
