Bangalore's Atish Ray aka Catla Freshwater has always remained just under most radars even with a steady trickle of singles over the years – not for lack of quality but for being a true stylistic outlier. Now with his latest single 'Catla's Dream', an even new and singular melange of musical colours emerges.

Atish sheds the light irreverence of his previous electronica numbers but borrows the unique sound design from his synthwave-adjacent past and ambient/downtempo collaborations. On top of the unique tonality, he features his raw singing more prominently than ever before with a descriptive lyricism that tells a story. 'Catla's Dream' describes the enchanting landscape that surrounds its protagonist before shifting the focus to their isolation.

According to Atish: "This song draws from one of my personal epiphanies about the disillusionment of one's chase for always getting more than what you have and losing your valuables in the process."
