Wild City Brings Berlin Based 'Parra For Cuva' To Delhi This May

1 April 2015

Following HVOB’s techno-laced live set last month, we have ferreted out another highly-regarded talent – this time from Berlin – Parra For Cuva, who travels to India in April. Parra For Cuva otherwise know as Nicolas Demuth, will play at one of our favourite venues antiSocial in Hauz Khas Village on Thursday April 16.

The first time we came across the name Parra For Cuva was next to a Wicked Games cover video on YouTube. Yes, the same brooding love ballad that more or less made Chris Isaak a permanent feature on all love compilations through the 90s. Parra For Cuva gave the song a summery, chill-house touch, which till date has had over 9 million views online.

But the classically-trained musician, who chose to shift base to Berlin to study sound design, has quietly been churning out little gems of electronica – inspired in equal parts by French house and his love for the piano, since the spring of 2013. Most of his productions also feature his long-time collaborator and friend Anna Naklub, whose voice many feel has the same vocal texture as London Grammar’s Hannah Reid.

Demuth released his debut album ‘Majouré’ in January earlier this year which also features Indian talent Monsoonsiren as one of the collaborators. And we thought it's time to throw him a little album launch in our hometown.

Also on the bill will be Mumbai based synth-pop act Aqua Dominatrix who'll be debuting his live show in the capital. Akshay Rajpurohit, better known to fans as the guitarist for metal bands like Scribe and Pangea, revealed the Aqua Dominatrix alter ego last year and released his 12-track album ‘Sadomist’ earlier this year.

Fans in other cites will also be able to catch Cuva on the following dates:

April 9: Hoppipola, Mumbai
April 10: Komatose, Hyderabad
April 11: Distil, Chennai

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates. You can also hear Majouré’ in full below:
