Watch: Curtain Blue 'Drones' EP Teaser + Launch Details

30 March 2015

Curtain Blue, known to his peers as Abhishek Bhatia is a formidable talent in the Indian musical circuit.

We’ve been on about his vast reserves of talent and unique take on contemporary electronica since he began the project back in 2013. Multiple live performances were followed by a collaboration with Berlin based producer Robot Koch, who spotted the young artist at the very first edition of Magnetic Fields Festival in Rajasthan. Their meeting led to Bhatia featuring on Koch’s ‘TSUKI’ EP, released via Modeselektor’s Monkeytown record label.

After a jam packed couple of years performing, producing and collaborating, the moment we’ve all been eagerly anticipating is almost here. Curtain Blue is all set to release his debut, 4 track EP ‘Drones’ to the world on 13 April. He’s released an album teaser on Youtube, featuring snippets of the lead single ‘My Obscurity’ which you can watch above.

It comes as no surprise that with his abilities in performing live, Bhatia will launch ‘Drones’ on 9 April at antiSOCIAL, Delhi with a very special collaborative set with 12-14 guest musicians, many of whom he has worked with before. Some of these include his fellow bandmates from The Circus, Sahil Mendiratta and Nikhil Kaul of Frame/Frame, Sundogproject’s Rahul Das and many more. Mumbai songster Your Chin will provide support for the evening. The full lineup in included on the poster below.

His release and performance will take place just before his show at the Southbank Centre for Alchemy where he will be performing alongside Nicholson and Sulk Station. Follow Curtain Blue on Facebook for updates and watch the teaser for ‘Drones’ right on top. Gig details below in the flyer.

We can’t wait for this one.
