Details Announced For Sound Lab Mumbai

Details have been announced for the next edition of Sound Lab set to take place in Mumbai from 7-13 February at Gallery MMB. This chapter will also feature a very exciting performance by Berlin outfit, Perera Elsewhere.

An initiative of the Goethe Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai, Sound Lab is an intensive workshop of analog and digital music production that aims to connect contemporary musicians from South Asia and Germany. The workshop is curated and co-hosted by Border Movement, and this edition will feature six selected participants who will work together at a provisional studio set up at Gallery MMB.

This edition of the Sound Lab has got a formidable list of participants including the ever active Sandunes, Snow Shoe and Ashkay Rajpurohit of Aqua Dominatrix and Scribe, Sri Lanka’s Daffy Maestro and Toto Wolf, Oren Gerlitz and Sasha Perera, all from Berlin. The ultimate goal of Sound Lab will be to produce collaborative music and showcase the results at a performance at the end of the week.

Gallery MMB will also open doors to its rehearsal room to the general public each day from 6-10pm, with special visuals by Sourya Sen and Naman Saraiya, DJ’s and musicians performing for the crowds. The participants will perform every night at 8pm and Perera Elsewhere, which comprises of the three German members, will play live at Cross Maidan as part of the Kala Ghoda Festival.
