Guwahati's Metropolis Winter Festival Kicks Off Tonight

The northeastern city of Guwahati will be abuzz with the sound of music and people this weekend, as ‘Urban Winter Festival’, Metropolis, will begin celebrations for its 2015 edition from tonight onwards.
Calling itself Guwahati’s answer to national and international urban festivals, the 3 day event, which starts tonight and will continue till 11 January, will feature a host of exciting Indian musical acts, along with various art and culture shows and competitions designed to showcase upcoming talents from the region.
The fledgling festival promises some very exciting acts from the country in this edition and will feature performances by Delhi based The Vinyl Records, Mumbai’s Your Chin, Kolkata’s Ganesh Talkies and Nagaland based Purple Fusion, apart from a host of other events.
It’s exciting to see more festivals sprouting up in cities that don’t normally fall under tour rosters, especially in the North-East, considering the growing cultural space and amount of undiscovered (by the rest of the country at any rate) talent that lies in that arm of the country.
