Slo Light: Stream The Solo Debut From Massive Attack's Neil Davidge

27 February 2014

Neil Davidge has been a key conspirator on the Massive Attack album's Mezzanine, 100th Window, Danny The Dog and Heligoland. He's also renowned for production, co-writing and sonic-sculpting of music for David Bowie, Snoop Dogg, Damon Albarn, Primal Scream and Mos Def, as well as being the composer behind Halo 4 - the highest charting videogame soundtrack ever.

Initially recruited to work with Massive Attack for six months (the band were planning to finish off the album with former collaborator Nellee Hooper), Davidge eventually went on to become a central member of the team.

“We did the six months, we had a bunch of ideas, we just kept working on stuff – and three years later, we had an album.”

Now almost a decade into his career, he’s releasing his first solo debut; Slo Light, due to be released on 24 March through 7HZ Productions, featuring vocal contributions from the likes of Sandie Shaw, Cate Le Bon, Karima Francis, Stephonik Youth, and Patrick Duff.

It's now streaming online and you can hear it in full below:
