India Music Week #003 Announced

21 November 2013

The 3rd edition of 100 Pipers India Music Week returns this year, from 4-8 December 2013.

Unlike its predecessors, which saw the conference take place in New Delhi alongside events across the country, its focus will now move to Mumbai - with events taking place across 3 venues.

Over 4 consecutive dates, Mumbai's blueFROG and Cafe Zoe will play host to showcases from India, Norway, and France - spanning multiple genres such as experimental jazz, electronica, blues and rock. Some of the acts invited include Ninja Tune signed jazz ensemble Jaga Jazzist, Samsaya (Norway), Blackstratblues, Soulmate, Madboy/Mink and more.

Those more interested in industry discussions will also be able to attend the two-day music conference held at the True School of Music from 4-5 December. More info on the panels can be found here

This year the conference focuses around two main themes: 'Music & New Technology' and 'Education'. Alongside a series of panel discussions and presentations, there will also be roundtable discussions facilitating exchanges among music professionals from India and abroad.

Now in its 3rd year, the festival is a legacy of the late Amit Saigal, founder of Rock Street Journal, as a response to the need to consolidate the Indian independent music industry through a sustainable platform interacting with the global marketplace.
