Nicolas Jaar Remixes Daft Punk's Random Access Memories In Full

On Friday, the world woke up to a little surprise. By now you may have even heard it - we just wanted to make sure.

Darkside, the project made up of Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington have offered their own take on arguably the biggest album of the year, Random Access Memories which was released by French electronic duo, Daft Punk last month.

It’s not what you’d expect.

Most of the album’s vocals have been stripped in favour of a smooth and ambient soundtrack. It almost appears to be a joke. With the album opening up with a blast of noise, and tracks put together in a completely different order, it’s hard to tell it’s a remix album till you recognise you’re first bit of Daft Punk in the third track.

Although Jaar is known for his downtempo work, and this would fit exactly under that umbrella, it’s a surprising and interesting listen. You can hear it in full below:
