Listen: ‘Tome’ By Smax

3 August 2017

Amman Mushtaq aka Smax has just released his first full-length album, ‘Tome’.

The 16-track album is as complete an album as they come. Calling up a variety of moods and environments, ‘Tome’ has tracks on it suitable for pensive evenings to 3 am mornings on the dance floor.

Currently based in the UK, the Karachi artist conceived the album after leaving Pakistan for the US in 2013. Having attended the Red Bull Music Academy in NYC later that year, he has also played at the Low End Theory Festival in 2015.

Stand-out tracks on the album include Middle Eastern ambient tune ‘Aslam Bahi’; glitchy, hip-hop, Doom-esque track ‘Murk’; and the collaborative song ‘Felo’ with enigmatic Pakistani artist Nawskh.

The fifth release on Australian label Hidden Waves, you can listen to ‘Tome’ below.
