Listen: 'Losing My Mind' by Wide Octaves

7 March 2017

‘Losing My Mind’ is a new EP release by up-and-coming producer Wide Octaves. The two-track EP is a great introduction to the Mumbai-based artists work.

Both tracks from the EP centre around a pulsating bass, allowing it to be the focal point on which various other instruments weave in and out. ‘Losing My Mind’ is much more distorted vocally and could easily find itself on the dance-floor with its trip-hop aesthetic. ‘Traces’ is much more of a introduction into his work with heavy, rapid-fire synths layered on top of a fixed percussive instrumental.

Wide Octaves is Vineeth Jay who is part of Mumbai hip-hop and multi-art crew Dreamteam. Having been around since 2012, the producer has worked on numerous commercial projects with various music directors and artists, as well as most recently, working alongside Amit Trivedi.
