All-Women Music Festival Sonic Tigress Announces Sukriti & Prakriti Kakkar, Tipriti Kharbangar, Nikhita Gandhi & More

On March 29, Bangalore's Phoenix Market City will see its first-ever women-only music festival with Sonic Tigress. The event will not only feature a women-only lineup – for which it has requested its bookings to feature only women in their bands for the show – but is also open exclusively to women attendees alongside featuring only women for all its staff, from PR and social media to volunteers and production crew.

Sonic Tigress will feature twin sisters duo SuPra (Sukriti and Prakriti Kakkar), multilingual vocalist Nikhita Gandhi, and blues powerhouse Tipriti Kharbangar (performing with Japanese brass player Chie Nishikori) lead the bill alongside India’s all-women hip-hop collective Wild Wild Women. Rising Bangalore talents Niveditha Ode Linda and Meg & The Miracles, led by 13-year-old rock vocalist Megan Rakesh, will also feature on the lineup alongside popular irreverent comedian Aditi Mittal.

As part of the festival’s effort to create awareness about the festival, multiple installations called Scream-O-Meter have been set up across Bangalore, inviting women to scream out their frustrations, with the higher the decibel, the more lucrative the prizes – like winning free tickets to the festival.
