Treble Puns Offer Their First New Song In 3 Years With 'Illusion Delusion'

28 August 2024

Treble Puns, the duo of Abhimanyu Roy and Sohini Bhattacharya continue to evolve their sound, going from the leftfield garage rock rawness of their early tracks to taming the rough edges on 'The Pat Earn' and even further with an electronic touch of their previous, the 2021 track 'Sisyphus'. Offering their first new song since then with 'Illusion Delusion', which features vocalist Arjun Mukherjee aka Kimkid, the Bangalore act arrives at a more traditional soft rock sound.

With mystical lyrics about existential dilemmas delivered over easy melodies atop pounding drums and plucked strings, the track looks at the question of "whether adhering to a templated life is truly fulfilling". While the more common style gives an easy access point to Treble Puns' work, the delight on the track still rests in how the instrumental melodies are stitched together into colourful and slightly raw textures.
