Jazz Weekender Announces Desmadre Orkesta, Tara Lily, Kayan & More

9 February 2023

Returning for a winter edition after a sell-out inaugural edition last year, New Delhi's Jazz Weekender just dropped the lineup for its upcoming outing at Mehrauli's 1AQ.

Galvanising the audience for a celebration of live music under the banyan tree canopy at the arti-inspired lawns, the 2-day event will host artists that cross over from jazz into genres like R&B, big band, swing, soul, electronica, fusion and funk with a lineup that includes the Middle Eastern influences-infused jazz of Dubai group Noon, Dutch alternative hip-hop trailblazer Cero Ishmael, and Argentina's Desmadre Orkesta, known for their diverse performances that mix Balkan Bronze, Cumbian jazz and New Orleans swing.

The lineup also includes some incredible live performances such as upcoming vocalist Kayan, prolific jazz drummer Gino Banks returning with virtuosic guitarist Rhythm Shaw for a collaborative set, Tara Lily bringing the fusion of her two cultures, the experimental artist NATE08, Many Roots Ensemble infusing folk, jazz, funk and many more genres, New Delhi's own Sahil Vasudeva performing a unique set with his new ensemble '2 Indias', Bangalore based soul and R&B artist Mary Ann, a very special set on “The history of Jazz or Jazz through the ages” by Arjun Sagar Gupta of the Piano Man Jazz Club franchise under the name of asg.tpm and the Goa-based sibling duo Merak.

Conceptualised by boxout.fm, Gatecrash, Jazz In India and Wild City, Jazz Weekender will also pair the musical offerings with F&B experiences and curated markets.
