ARTIFVCT Adds Emotive Depth To Techno On Debut Album 'Beneath The Surface'

Delhi-based producer Siddharth Sharma, better known as ARTIFVCT, just released his debut album 'Beneath the Surface' via Qilla Records.

With a minimalistic approach to deep and hypnotic techno, ARTIFVCT's album attempts to add an emotional and spiritual depth to the genre – taking cues from local influences and the artist finding inspiration from mountainous sides of nature (also signified by the album art). ARTIFVCT does so by nestling the effortless rhythms of the genre between throat singing-like guttural drones and ambient textures, exploring a range of moods and tempos, from the ominous and meditative title track to the bouncy broken beats of 'Stigma' and 'Dystopia'.
