Sonnyjim Joins The Purist On Album 'White Girl Wasted' Featuring Madlib, MF Doom & More

London-based South Asian-descent rapper-producer Sonnyjim and collaborator The Purist recently came together to form the duo White Girl Wasted, releasing a succinct eponymous album.
The 8-track album got its start from the pair coming up with a beat and sending it on a whim to the late legendary rap artist MF Doom and Doom providing double the requested bars. The duo remarks how when Doom set the bar, everything else would have to level up to match.
Sonnyjim and The Purist then assembled a whole array of guest artists like Madlib, Jay Electronica, DJ Premier and Milkavelli to create a love letter to early boom-bap (with DJ Premier featuring 'Doc Ellis' especially quoting the style) while largely exploring the themes of drug-fuelled exploits.
