After shifting towards a confluence of R&B and hip-hop with her previous singles 'Male Attention' and 'Complicated', erstwhile Mumbai-based artist Ramya Pothuri settles into the genre completely with her first release of 2022 'Love Someone'.
Singing about the rises and falls in a relationship on the single, the singer-songwriter wholly adapts the sonics and aesthetics (in the music video) associated with indie and alternative music – leaning hard on the emotive capabilities of her voice over warm pads, gradual basslines and minimal trap-style drum parts to deliver her most polished and self-assured offering to date. The montage of the video reiterates the song's yearning for a second chance, expressing an aching optimism to do things better this time.
