Sijya Releases 'I only want to crash' Ahead Of 7-Stop India Tour

Earlier in May, Sijya announced signing with Björk-fame label One Little Independent Records for her sophomore EP 'Leather & Brass'. As the 3rd single in the roll-out, which next sees the release of the full 6-track record on September 12, the producer-composer and graphic artist has just released 'I only want to crash' alongside announcing a tour across Goa, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.

Compared to the first 2 singles, 'Tabla' and 'Do I Know', which signalled a more songwriting-led sound for the New Delhi artist, the new single leans towards a heady soundscape of emotive synth harmonies and washes of ambient noises, which includes brief vocal lines in its fold as yet another atmospheric layer – mirroring the EP’s overarching themes of creative and emotional distortion.

According to Sijya: “I’ve been a bit unsure of my lyricism in the past, but this EP has some that I find simple, although not necessarily clear… That’s kind of my thing, I think.”

Out of the 7 stops that include news live sets and listening sessions for the vinyl of the EP, New Delhi's Oddbird Theatre and Mumbai's NMACC will see A/V shows in collaboration with lighting and stagecraft specialists Tech Quartet.
