Listen: Fukait’s Releases Debut EP ‘Them Is Us’

NID graduate and designer by trade Sanchit Sawaria, also known by his musical moniker Fukait, is a new producer from the capital who caught out attention a couple of months ago when he sent us his music via SoundCloud. We saw promise in his ambient, moody production and premiered his track ‘+-’ under out Dropbox Talents section.

‘+-’ was released as a teaser to ‘Them Is Us’ – Fukait’s fresh (albeit rather awkwardly titled) debut EP, which he dropped last week via SoundCloud.

‘Them Is Us’ is largely instrumental apart from ‘Split’, which features Khyati Trehan’s ghostly vocals. The 4-track EP experiments with undulating electronic beats and escalating synths, as well as some elements of pop.

Fukait’s sound isn’t perfect (and not particularly “grotesque and outlandish”, as it describes itself on SoundCloud), but it’s promising and well worth a listen. He’s got potential and a distinct sound, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on his work.
