Watch: ‘Keralight’ by Laxmi Bomb

3 August 2015

Mumbai based electro pop act Laxmi Bomb have just released a video for ‘Keralight’ from their 2014 sophomore album ‘Mah’Bharat’. The music video premiered on 26 July on VH1’s India Rules and uploaded on to Youtube this morning.

The video is based in Ziro valley in Arunachal Pradesh, where the band performed last year at the Ziro Festival of Music. The video’s protagonist is the lungi clad ‘Keralight’ – a creature with the body of a man and the recognisable head of Kathakali’s Bhima, who dances his way around the little valley township. The odd but enjoyable video matches their unconventional, slightly Bollywood influenced sound.

The band is composed of Keegan Pereira on vocals, Levin Mendes on drums, Ruell Barretto playing bass and Joaquim Fernandes on keys. ‘Keralight’ is the band’s 3rd official music video – you can watch the others here on their website. Watch the video in its entirety below and follow Laxmi Bomb on Facebook and SoundCloud for updates.
