‘Together For Tomorrow’ Raised INR 10 Lakhs For Events Industry Workers

24 November 2020

Earlier this year in July, New Delhi-based talent and brand agency Spectal, in partnership with Universal Music-backed platform VYRL Originals and new media enterprise Only Much Louder, announced ‘Together For Tomorrow’, a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for events industry workers, like light and sound engineers, tent rental businesses and vendors, whose livelihoods were threatened by the cancellation of live events during the lockdowns.

Within four months, the campaign collected INR 10 lakhs which it has disbursed through Anahad Foundation to 100 event workers from around the country. The drive received over 600 applications, from which it selected the recipients of the funds, prioritising those under “no income at all and no other working individual in the family” category.

Alongside receiving support over social media, the campaign saw bands like Swarathma donating one month of streaming revenue and The Local Train creating exclusive merch for ‘Together For Tomorrow’
