Nic Fanciulli To Play In Mumbai This Week - Win Tickets
6 April 2015
The first time Nic Fanciulli came calling on India – in December 2011 – he was a Grammy-nominated tech-house producer and label owner. This year, Fanciulli returns to India, having added more hits and a bespoke music festival, The Social (must check out the 2015 line-up) to his kitty but most importantly, with the backing of the big daddy of music festivals, Ultra.
March saw the three-day Miami music festival unveil a new stage concept called Resistance, where festival goers were treated to the sounds of underground music’s finest artists. As part of Ultra’s attempt to spread the message of underground music far and wide, Fanciulli is on a “ground-breaking Around The World Tour, a global sprint that will see him playing across multiple continents over a period of just 10 days”.
Having kicked off the tour on April 2 in Toronto, Fanciulli has since performed in San Francisco and hits Manila tonight (April 6) after which he travels to Tokyo. Mumbai gets to keep its date with Fanciulli on April 8 at blueFROG before the juggernaut rolls on to Dubai and Madrid completeing the tour in Manchester on April 11.
Coordinated by the diligent crew at Submerge and music entrepreneur Nikhil Chinapa, whose constant championing of the underground has brought the likes of Carl Craig, Maya Jane Coles, Yousef, Magda, Coyu, among others to India in 2014 alone, this tie-up with Ultra, one of the biggest brands in the international music industry, can only mean good things for Indian fans.
Tuhin Mehta, another flag-bearer for techno in India, is on support duties for the night. Check the Facebook event for details.
