DIY Day Returns

7 October 2014

This November DIY Day is back! The team behind the successful daylong event that took place earlier this year are returning to Akshara Theatre on Saturday 1 November 2014.

The initiative is not solely performance driven, with the intention being to promote expressive art and bring together likeminded individuals. This art is not just restricted to musicians, but includes all forms, with DIY Day including 10 music acts, 4 theatre acts, 2 dance acts, 2 slam poetry acts and a few short film screenings spread over two days. Apart from the performances the initiative will host art installations and 10 stalls curated by independent artists across Delhi who run their own DIY enterprises - which will include food stalls, as well as art and merchandise.

This action packed roster will feature performances by Curtain Blue, Shadow and Light, Begum and Adi and Suhail among others.

The DIY Day campaign is unique in that it requires your support, quite literally. The initiative encourages the involvement of the festival-goer and relies on crowd funding to cover the cost for basics: sound equipment, sound tech, video equipment and the venue. Entry is Rs 400 for a day pass and Rs 750 for both days. The initiative takes place over two days, starting 1 November and will once again be hosted at Akshara Theatre. It will start at 3.30pm and last till 9pm. Check out the video below for more information:

DIY Day is being curated by Ghar ka Records in association with Epic Shit Entertainment and Akshara Theater.
