Construkt Festival: Celebrating The Convergence of Creators

19 March 2014

Great name: check. Cool website: check. Confusing agenda: check. Oh wait, this is not a music festival, this is a festival celebrating ‘Bangalore’s rise as the startup capital of India’. Basically another event (we’ve just come down from our Coalition cloud) celebrating and nurturing creative entrepreneurs taking place between 20-23 March in Bangalore.

Construkt is a 4 day festival that unites people from 4 Construkt Creator communities: technology, design, culinary and social impact in 4 days of learning, sharing, creating and celebrating, with an eclectic array of workshops, presentations, art installations, demo zones, discussions, mixers, performances, food stalls, flea markets, jam sessions, rock stars, launchpads, micro launches and more.

The colour-coded program will help you identify what is relevant for you. Subjects range from challenges faced by female entrepreneurs and solutions, starting your own restaurant, creating technology for poorer communities to open discussions with people like Nikhil Barua from The Humming Tree, Avijit Michael from Change.org and cocktail workshops, beer brewing and tea crafting. There will also be performances from musicians, artists, performers and poets.

Organised ‘crawls’ will navigate you around the city giving you the opportunity to meet a range of start-ups, companies, cafes, design houses and engage with them in their spaces and hear their journeys. Further information about the crawls on the festival blog here.

We're excited and encouraged by the fact that increasing attention is being averted to the creative and startup sectors in the region. Growing is all about learning and making partnerships and the more value that is placed on assisting and supporting these connections, the stronger and more united the creative sectors will become.

Tickets start at Rs1250 for a day pass or Rs 2750 for an all access 4 day pass. There are subsidised rates for students. Check out the intro video below and for further information visit the Construkt website or Facebook page.
