blueFROG Opens Shop In Pune This Weekend

Ahead of the all singing and dancing venue opening at the end of the year, blueFROG have announced that they will be launching an open-air annexure called The Amphitheatre on November 21st - headlined by UK dance music act Above & Beyond.

Set in the Ishaniya Mall and with a staggering capacity of up to 2000, the programming will very closely mirror its parent club in Mumbai. Other acts confirmed to perform the “Amphibian Series” include Fatoumata Diawara and Erik Truffaz. The Amphitheatre comes fully kitted out with a stage, lights and sound system which leaves us wondering, with a 2000 capacity club annexe, what is in store for the main club?

Partnering with locals DICE Hospitality, they are confident Pune is ready: “The audiences in Pune have always been very open to various genres of music. From the days of the Peshwa’s music has been an integral part of “Puneri” culture with many regional and local bands performing on a regular basis.” Govind Thakker, DICE Hospitality

This sounds like quite a monster of a venue and an incredibly ambitious project but with no obvious competition on the horizon and a city of hungry students we hope it causes a stir for all the right reasons.
