Richie Hawtin To Host Production Workshop at blueFROG Mumbai

20 February 2013

Any historian interested in looking back at the evolution of Canadian electronic music and the Detroit techno sound will most certainly find that the name Richie Hawtin figures both early and often.

Forever associated with putting Detroit on the dance music map along with fellow Detroit pioneer Carl Craig, the world renown DJ, producer and record label owner (M-nus Records) is a true techno modernist and has over the years created a unique sound as well as one of techno's most revered projects; Plastikman.

In the run up to his now imminent 3-city tour across India, the techno entrepreneur will be hosting a production master class at blueFROG Mumbai tonight. Anyone even mildly interested in producing electronic music and more specifically techno should not miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn tricks of the trade from this dance music pioneer.

The workshop was announced yesterday by Submerge and earlier today by Richie Hawtin via his Facebook. Likely to fill up fast, anyone interested is advised to confirm their attendance by sending a quick email to afshaan.k@submerge.in with their name, phone number and email address.

"I'll be hosting a master class at blueFROG in Mumbai today from 6-7pm. This will be Free and open to all, but the venue's capacity is limited so if you'd like to attend, please send an RSVP with your name, phone number and email to afshaan.k@submerge.in. Hope to see you there!" - Richie Hawtin

**UPDATE: This will only be a panel discussion and not a production workshop as previously announced by Hawtin.**
