James Blake Announces 2nd LP. Stream Brand New Track

James Blake previewed his forthcoming sophomore LP titled, "Overgrown", with the premiere of “Retrograde” on BBC Radio 1 last night. As we'd hoped from this release, it delivers pure, unadulterated Blake, as we remember it.

The follow-up to his brilliant self-titled debut will be released on 8 April through Republic Records. Press materials promise that the album will see Blake "returning to the brain melting electronic perfection” of earlier releases, “moving way beyond any post-dubstep pigeonholes to include stunning reinterpretations of both hip-hop and house.”

As it should, "Retrograde" puts Blake’s sultry vocals first, layered over lo-fi piano and synth chords. A promising hint at what’s to come this spring. You can take a listen to the “Retrograde” radio rip below:
