Adam & The Fish Eyed Poets Win 'Toto Fund The Arts' Awards 2013:
22 January 2013
Toto Funds The Arts (TFA) is a non-profit organisation set up in 2004 in memory of Angirus 'Toto' Vellani, a man known to be extremely passionate about music, literature and film who tragically lost his life in an accident in Goa at the age of 20. It aims to nurture and encourage young artists through awards, workshops and events in the field of creative writing, photography, art and music to promote artistic creativity amongst India's urban youth.
Last year we announced a call for submissions for the 'Toto Funds The Arts' music awards. And at an awards ceremony in Bangalore over the weekend, winners to all categories were picked.
We for one were extremely happy to hear that Chennai based band, Adam & The Fish Eyed Poets won the prestigious music award, in the form of a cash prize of Rs 50,000. This was based on the bands recently released third LP 'Songs From An Island' late last year, a follow up to frontman Kishore Krishna's self produced albums, Snakeism (2010) and Dead Loops (2011) under the 'Fish Eyed' moniker.
