Madboy/Mink To Play Debut Delhi Show This Weekend

This Friday Wild City will be curating our final show of the year and what a way we've chosen to go out.

With a line up that culminates with two of our favourite artists of 2012 alongside, as always, some fresh new talent, we'd like to say a warm thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the year. We've got some exciting events lined up for next year, but you'll have to hang on slightly longer, to hear about those.

On 28 December however we've invited Madboy/Mink, a noise pop and dirty disco duo from Mumbai to perform for the very first time in New Delhi. In support is 2012's fastest rising star Dualist Inquiry as well as Frame/Frame, a producer we've played with a number of times this year. And there's good reason for it.

Imaad Shah a.k.a Madboy is an Indian actor and musician - also the son of actors Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah - who was previously the lead vocalist in funk band Pulp Society. He’ll be joined on stage by Saba Azad a.k.a Mink, also an actress and musician from Mumbai, India.

Mashing up dirty electro and funk, Modboy/Mink are self-proclaimed synthpop and Ed Banger heads. When performing live they use a MicroKorg, live funk guitar, soulfully destroyed vocals, vocoders and old school vinyl samples to play a mod – nu disco anti aesthetic with a touch of electro swing.

We're not stopping there.

Sahej Bakshi a.k.a Dualist Inquiry over the last year has brought his signature take on electronica to the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, SulaFest, Eristoff Invasion Festival and Fatboy Slim show in New Delhi. In the final stages of polishing off his eagerly anticipated debut LP, we've invited him to take time out and celebrate the end of the year with us.

Opening up proceedings will be Frame/Frame a producer from New Delhi who plays an extremely eclectic mix of electronica ranging from synth-driven tech right through to sample-laden post-dubstep. This one's going to be extra special as he'll be collaborating with Saba (Mink) on vocals and Anshul (Switch Bitch) on electronic drums. We recommend coming early.
