Richie Hawtin To Tour India Next Year?

Although technically a Canadian, Richie Hawtin is a name that will forever be associated with putting Detroit on the dance music map along with fellow Detroit pioneer Carl Craig. The DJ, producer and record label owner is a true techno modernist and has over the years created a unique techno sound as well as one of techno's most revered projects; Plastikman.

From the germination of Plus 8 records with fellow Canadian John Acquaviva in 1990, through to his present day position as head of M-nus records, international DJ and all-round techno entrepreneur, Hawtin's focus has always been on taking steps into the unknown.

It's hardly surprising then, a tweet from the techno pioneer yesterday suggested that he'll be visiting India sometime next year. Although it's not an official confirmation it at least means it's on the cards. We're trying to find out more.
