Beer Puppets

A jazz band with an exotic name, Beer Puppets was founded by Shreya Bhattacharya and Abhishek Dey who were students at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music in Chennai. The band initially included various international musicians at Swarnabhoomi, who have since left India. These musicians were gradually replaced by local musicians by Bhattacharya and Dey to retain the essential sound of the band.
They play an amalgam of neo-soul, funk, contemporary jazz, R&B and some fusion, and their sound is an experiment with rich harmonies.
