Ankur Tewari Reimagines sudan's 'can you?' in Hindi as 'hai kyun?'

Back in June, we gave an exclusive preview of 'can you?', a track off Mumbai's Priptal Sudan's (who goes by his last name stylised as sudan) then-upcoming debut album 'sudan?'. In a less common but almost always enjoyed act of India's independent artists covering or reimagining each other's works, genre mainstay Ankur Tewari has just released his own version of 'can you?' as 'hai kyun?', rewriting its verses in his characteristic style of sensitive Hindi songwriting.
“I usually don’t think about language when I’m composing something but as soon as I finished working on ‘can you?’, I could very easily imagine another version of the song in Hindi because of all the classical elements the song has to offer,” reveals sudan who collaborated with Ankur for the new version.
Keeping to the structure and sonic palette of the original release, which was co-written with pruthvi, which represented the gentlest point of an album that mixed acoustic pop with electronica's energy, Ankur's verses highlight a disappointment with the world and among it a romance that differs from it against all odds.
