Listen: Adam And The Fish Eyed Poets Release ‘More Songs From An Island’ LP
7 October 2015
Adam and The Fish Eyed Poets is the project of Chennai based singer/songwriter, musician and self described ‘bedroom producer’ Kishore Krishna. He's back after a significant hiatus with a continuation of his 2011 album ‘Songs From An Island’ (for which he won a Toto Funds The Arts Prize in 2013) with, well - ‘More Songs From An Island’.
The album features percussion by Prabhu Muralee, guitar by Abhinav Krishnaswamy of the F16s on a few songs and Nischint Murari on 'This Weeks' Calling'.
The lengthy 15 track LP perpetuates the same theme that dominated the last album – the dark and sometimes humourous story of two conceited and generally terrible individuals stuck in the rut of arranged marriage.
“She is a lesbian in denial, and he is a sexually frustrated software professional. The songs present their internal monologues from several crucial moments in their marriage that spans over 20 years.” – Adam and The Fish Eyed Poets
Krishna tells the warped story of his protagonists Ravi and Shanti over the course of the album and talks about a number of themes including about love, sex and intense hate.
‘More Songs From an Island’ is available to stream on YouTube as individual lyric videos featuring concept art by Chennai-based illustrator Hari Kumar Nair. You can listen to the whole thing below and follow Adam and the Fish Eyed Poets on Facebook for more. Buy it here on bandcamp.
