Alexander Robotnick Features Hybrid Protokol, Noni-Mouse, Rafiki & More On Compilation 'Indian TechXpress 2'

Italian electronic musician Alexander Robotnick has assembled the compilation 'Indian TechXpress 2', a follow-up in the series that started in 2018, for his label Hot Elephant Music.

Featuring recognised names of Indian electronica, the 12-track compilation seems to focus on techno and tech-house at the outset but regularly shifts its tempo and mood to house, especially on tracks like Farhan Rehman's 'I'm Talking To You', Synths Back's 'Spice Coast' and even 'Lake House' by Pawas and Fast Slow. What's special about the compilation is how the influence of techno can look different across the artists, with Hybrid Protokol featuring a more traditional assembly of reverberating drones and incessant basslines, Noni-mouse offering similar simple rhythms on esoteric textures that pass the attention to each other, while 5volts relies on the power of his simple sound design to infuse ambient sparseness with visceral energy.
