Chinese Electronic Producer Dead J To Tour India Later This Month

23 March 2015

The Sino-Indian Music Alliance (SIMA) – an initiative by alternative electronic music veteran Audio Pervert and Beijing record label Sinotronics – is a unique effort with our neighbours in the East that we’ve been excited about since its launch and the release of its debut collaborative album ‘Module 1:Oscillate’.

As part of the ongoing alliance, SIMA, in association with Wild City and Littlei, is organising the first ever China focused tour of electronic musicians in India for what will hopefully be a historic cultural exchange between two of the largest and fastest most quickly developing countries in the world.

Headlining the tour will be Beijing based electronic pioneer Dead J a.k.a. Shao Yanpeng. Dead J’s explorations of modern electronic music and minimalist visual design have been widely acclaimed, even featuring on reputed magazines like Vice and the Creators project in the past. The artist is currently partnering with Berlin-based labels and a host of german filmakers and techno music producers in various projects of electronic arts, film and music.

The tour will take place in New Delhi, Pune and Kolkata between late March and early April 2015, details are given on the flyer below. Dead J will be joined by forward thinking Chinese female electronic music producer Menghan along with Markus M Schneider, aka MMS, co-founder of China’s first independent platform for electronic music culture; Metrowaves and Beijing-based electronic music label; Sinotronics.

This SIMA tour is further powered by Ableton Live, Native Instruments and Sennheiser. The first event is all set to take place at Hauz Khas Social in New Delhi this week on 27 March (details here).
